The sky of 2027 in brief
Saturn stays in Aries from the first day of the year to the last, turning retrograde on 9 August and direct again on 24 December. Jupiter begins the year retrograde in Leo, turns direct on 13 April and enters Virgo on 26 July. Uranus holds Gemini, Neptune Aries and Pluto Aquarius for the whole year.
Mercury turns retrograde three times, on 9 February in Pisces, 10 June in Cancer and 7 October in Scorpio, and Mars runs retrograde from 10 January in Virgo to 1 April in Leo. The eclipses come in two seasons, February and July to August, with the Moon’s nodes in Aquarius and Leo.
Every sign page counts houses by whole signs from the Sun sign, the method a forecast can use without a birth time, and reads each event the way the tradition reads it: as emphasis and timing, never as a promise. Your own chart, and your own choices, say the rest.

How these forecasts are made
The dates come from the same ephemeris the readings on this site are cast from: the lunations from the Almanac’s lunation series, within seconds of the Swiss Ephemeris; the Sun, Moon and slow planets from tables sampled from the Swiss Ephemeris; Mercury, Venus and Mars from the planetary elements the Road of Ages uses, checked against the Swiss Ephemeris to under a minute of arc. Lunations, eclipses and the Sun’s ingresses are given to the minute in UTC; planetary ingresses and stations to the day.
Eclipse types and where each can be seen come from NASA’s eclipse tables, whose times, once set from dynamical time to UTC, agree with the engine’s own to within a few seconds. The interpretations are hand-written for each event and house, in the old language of the twelve places, and they describe what astrologers read into a sky rather than what it will do.
Beyond the Sun sign
Your Sun sign is only part of 2027
A forecast by sign reads the year for everyone born under it. The Road of Ages reads the turning points of your own life from your birth date, and shows the one you are standing in.
See the year on your own RoadCommon questions
What is the biggest astrological event of 2027?
By length, Saturn’s whole year in Aries; by spectacle, the total solar eclipse of 2 August in Leo, whose totality NASA puts at up to 6 minutes 23 seconds on the central line.
When does Jupiter change signs in 2027?
Jupiter enters Virgo on 26 July, after spending the first part of the year in Leo.
How many eclipses are there in 2027?
Five: two solar (annular on 6 February and total on 2 August) and three penumbral lunar eclipses (20 February, 18 July and 17 August).
Are these horoscopes written for my exact birth chart?
No. They read the year by your Sun sign, counting houses by whole signs from it. A chart cast for your birth time places the same events in your own houses, which can differ.
