Capricorn horoscope 2027

Capricorn’s 2027 rests on two slow planets: Saturn holding your 4th house for the whole year, and Jupiter crossing from your 8th to your 9th on 26 July. The annular solar eclipse in your 2nd on 6 February and the total solar eclipse in your 8th on 2 August mark the year’s two turning points, and the lunations favor January, May, September and December.

Capricorn in 2027: the year in brief

The year’s slow story for Capricorn is told by Saturn in Aries, your 4th house of home, and by Jupiter in Leo and then Virgo, your 8th and 9th houses. The eclipses fall in Aquarius, Virgo, Capricorn and Leo, which for Capricorn means your 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th houses. Mercury turns retrograde three times, in Pisces (your 3rd), Cancer (your 7th) and Scorpio (your 11th), and Mars is retrograde from 10 January to 1 April, through your 9th and 8th houses.

Houses are counted by whole signs from your Sun sign (Capricorn is your 1st). Dates are UTC, from the Almanac’s own ephemeris.

Saturn in Aries all year: your 4th house

Saturn in your 4th house is read as a year of foundations: duties at home, a parent who needs you, or the slow work of making a household sound. For Capricorn that is the planet the tradition gives to time, limits and the slow reward standing in the 4th house, and in Aries it stands in the sign of its fall, where the old books say it works with less ease than anywhere.

It turns retrograde on 9 August at 27°52′ Aries and direct on 24 December at 21°01′ Aries, so the second half of the year is read as a review of what the first half built in your 4th house: home, family and roots, and parents.

Clear one corner, drawer or shelf that has held the past for too long.

Jupiter in Leo, then Virgo: your 8th and 9th houses

Jupiter begins the year in Leo, your 8th house, retrograde until 13 April, when it turns direct at 16°59′ Leo. Until 26 July, Jupiter in your 8th house is read as growth in what is shared: support from others, favorable terms on shared money, and depth in intimacy.

On 26 July Jupiter enters Virgo, your 9th house, and stays there for the rest of the year. From 26 July, Jupiter in your 9th house is read as a year of horizons: travel, study, publishing and faith all widen, and teachers appear.

Jupiter takes about twelve years to circle the zodiac, so the houses it crosses in 2027 are read as the year’s widest doors for Capricorn: shared money until 26 July, travel and study after.

Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and the Moon’s nodes

Uranus stays in Gemini, your 6th house, all year. Uranus in your 6th house is read as change in daily work: new routines, new tools and a body that will not keep to an old schedule.

Neptune stays in Aries, your 4th house, all year. Neptune in your 4th house is read as longing at home: an idealized household, family secrets, or a home that becomes a refuge.

Pluto stays in Aquarius, your 2nd house, all year. Pluto in your 2nd house is read as a long transformation of money and values: power over resources, gained or surrendered.

The Moon’s north node stands in Aquarius all year and the south node opposite in Leo: for Capricorn your 2nd and 8th houses, the axis of what is yours and what is shared: earnings and debts, possessions and trust. The year’s eclipses gather close to this axis, which is why Capricorn’s eclipse houses are the 2nd and the 8th and their neighbors.

The eclipses of 2027 for Capricorn

Love in 2027 for Capricorn

Venus, the lesser benefic, crosses your 5th house of romance (Taurus) from 14 May to 8 June, and your 7th house of partnership (Cancer) from 3 July to 27 July. The tradition reads those weeks as Capricorn’s warmest of the year for courtship and for agreements made in good faith. The lunations that fall in those two houses come in May, July and November: the New Moon of 6 May in your 5th, the New Moon of 4 July in your 7th and the Full Moon of 14 November in your 5th. Two questions for Capricorn’s year in love: What wants to be expressed through me? And who is my mirror right now?

Work and money in 2027

For work, the year’s weight sits where the slow planets stand: Saturn in your 4th (working from home, and the foundations a career quietly stands on), and Jupiter in your 8th and then 9th, read as growth in investors, commissions, and the money other people place in your hands and then teaching, publishing, law, travel for work and further qualifications. Your 10th house of career is Libra; the lunations there fall on 22 March (Full Moon) and 30 September (New Moon), the year’s natural dates for career beginnings and reviews. Money is read through your 2nd house (Aquarius) and your 8th (Leo): 22 January (Full Moon in your 8th), 6 February (New Moon in your 2nd), 2 August (New Moon in your 8th) and 17 August (Full Moon in your 2nd) are the dates the tradition would mark for budgets, debts and agreements. No slow planet stands in Capricorn’s houses of work or money this year, so the tradition would read your 2027 working life through the monthly lunations rather than one long theme, and leave the sums to ordinary prudence.

Capricorn’s four best months of 2027

Read by the lunations alone, the four most open months for Capricorn are January, May, September and December.

How the months are chosen: a month counts when its New Moon falls in one of the places the Hellenistic astrologers called fortunate (your 1st, 10th and 11th houses first, then your 5th and 9th), with a Full Moon there adding a little; eclipse New Moons are left out, since the tradition reads them as turning points rather than easy openings. It is a reading of the Moon’s turns, not of your whole chart: a month left off the list is not a bad month.

Mercury and Mars retrograde in 2027

Mars is retrograde from 10 January at 10°25′ Virgo to 1 April at 20°55′ Leo, backing from Virgo into Leo: your 9th and 8th houses. For Capricorn that winter, Mars retrograde in your 8th house is read as a time to face debts, fears and questions of trust, slowly and honestly.
