Capricorn and the February 2027 annular solar eclipse

For Capricorn, the annular solar eclipse of Saturday 6 February 2027 falls in Aquarius, which counted by whole signs from Capricorn is your 2nd house: the house of money, possessions and values. At the north node, an eclipse in the 2nd house is read as an opening in what sustains you: a new source of income, a new skill to offer, or a new sense of your own worth that takes the year to settle.

The eclipse in your 2nd house

The eclipse is greatest at 16:00 UTC on 6 February, with the Sun and the Moon together at 17°37′ Aquarius, the second sign counted from Capricorn.

For Capricorn in February, the eclipse lands in the 2nd house, the place the Hellenistic astrologers called the Gate of Hades: the place just below the rising sign, in the old books the house of livelihood and of what sustains a life.

In love the February eclipse touches what you give and receive in love, and whether affection is being bought or freely offered; at work, your earnings and the price you put on your work; and with money, income, savings, spending and possessions, most directly of all the houses.

The nodes run through Aquarius and Leo this year, so Capricorn’s eclipse axis runs from the 2nd house to the 8th, the axis of what is yours and what is shared: earnings and debts, possessions and trust.

On 2 August, 177 days later, the total solar eclipse falls at the other end of that axis, in your 8th house, and Capricorn’s two solar eclipses of 2027 will have spoken from both ends of it.

On 6 February Capricorn’s traditional ruler, Saturn, stands in Aries, your 4th house, so the tradition would read the eclipse’s news as reaching Capricorn through the 4th house as well, the house of home, family and roots.

Capricorn’s eclipse season

On 20 February, 14 days after the solar eclipse, the penumbral lunar eclipse at 23:13 UTC dims the Moon at 1°58′ Virgo, across Capricorn’s 9th house, the house of faith, travel and higher learning, where the tradition would look for what is ripening or ending.

Astrologers read an eclipse over months rather than on its day, so for Capricorn the 2nd house stays in the foreground from 6 February until the next eclipse season, which the Almanac’s ephemeris puts in July.

For Capricorn around 6 February

A practice for the weeks around the February eclipse: write down one source of income or value you would like to grow, and take one practical step toward it.

And a question for Capricorn to carry until the next eclipse season: What would I build if I trusted my own worth?

Common questions

Which house is the February 2027 eclipse in for Capricorn?

The 2nd, counted by whole signs from Capricorn, since Aquarius is the second sign counted from Capricorn. Your own chart, cast for your birth time, may place 17°37′ Aquarius in a house other than the 2nd, and astrologers would read it there as well.

Is the annular solar eclipse good or bad for Capricorn?

The tradition does not sort the February eclipse into good or bad for Capricorn. It reads your 2nd house, the house of money, possessions and values, as where a chapter turns this February, and it leaves the outcome to your own choices.

When will Capricorn feel the February eclipse?

Astrologers look for an eclipse’s themes over the months that follow it rather than on the day, so for Capricorn from 6 February until the eclipses of July, with the 2nd house as the place to watch.
