Refund Policy

This page explains how refunds, cancellations and billing questions are handled for everything sold on The Great Almanac: one-time readings, including the Road of Ages, memberships, voice packs, and printed Codex editions. It is written to be read, not to be survived. Your statutory rights under the law of your country are never reduced by anything on this page.

Who processes your payment

Purchases on The Great Almanac are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Dodo Payments handles the checkout, charges your payment method, applies and remits any applicable tax, and issues your receipt by email. Refunds are returned to the payment method you used, through Dodo Payments.

You can reach Dodo Payments' own support through the links in your receipt email, or contact us directly as described below. Either road works; we answer both.

Printed Codex editions are the one exception: they are bought through our Shopify store, and Shopify processes their payment and returns any refund to the payment method used.

One-time readings

One-time readings are the digital purchases paid for once: a personal reading, the Road of Ages, and a digital Codex edition.

A personal reading is digital content that is generated and delivered immediately after purchase. By purchasing, you agree to immediate delivery, which under EU and UK consumer law means the standard 14-day withdrawal right ends once delivery has begun.

That is the legal position. Our actual practice is simpler and kinder:

If your reading failed to generate, arrived incomplete, or is materially defective, we refund it in full. Tell us within 14 days of purchase.
If you were charged twice for the same reading, the duplicate is refunded as soon as we see it, no questions.
If you bought the wrong thing and tell us before you have opened the reading, we refund it.

Memberships

Free trial. A trial that is cancelled before it ends is never charged.
Cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for; you keep everything the subscription includes until that date. There is no cancellation fee and no retention hoop.
Renewals. Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or annually as chosen at purchase. Your receipt from Dodo Payments states the renewal date and amount.
Refunds on renewals. If a renewal charged you and you had meant to cancel, contact us within 14 days of the charge with the subscription unused since the renewal, and we refund it.
Partial periods. We do not prorate refunds for time remaining in a period you have partly used, except where the law of your country requires it.
Annual plans. The 14-day renewal courtesy above applies to annual renewals too, which is where it matters most.

Voice packs

A voice pack that is entirely unspent is refundable within 14 days of purchase.
Once spoken answers from a pack have been used, the pack is no longer refundable, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
Voice pack credits are valid for 12 months from purchase.

Printed Codex editions

Each printed edition is made to order for you, so an edition that arrives as ordered cannot be returned for a change of mind, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
If an edition arrives damaged or misprinted, or does not arrive at all, we reprint it or refund it in full. Tell us within 30 days of delivery, or of the expected delivery date, and include a photograph of any damage.

How to ask for a refund

Email worldwidebuschman@gmail.com with the email address you purchased under and, if you have it, the receipt number from Dodo Payments, or the order number from Shopify for a printed edition. You do not need to explain yourself at length; one sentence is enough.

We reply within 3 business days. Approved refunds are issued through Dodo Payments, or through Shopify for a printed edition, and typically appear on your statement within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

What this policy does not do

It does not limit any right you have under the consumer law of your country. Where local law grants more than this page, local law wins.
It does not apply to purchases made outside The Great Almanac.
It does not cover chargebacks opened in place of a refund request. If you dispute a charge with your bank, the matter moves to Dodo Payments' dispute process; asking us first is faster for everyone.
