What sets Zodiac apart
The zodiac is a belt about 16 degrees wide, centred on the ecliptic, which is the Sun's apparent path, and divided into twelve equal signs of 30 degrees each. The Moon and the visible planets keep to it, near enough. The word is Greek, zodiakos kyklos, the circle of living figures. The equal 30-degree signs are a measure laid on the sky, and the star groups they were named for are of unequal size.
