Libra in 2027: the year in brief

The year’s slow story for Libra is told by Saturn in Aries, your 7th house of partners, and by Jupiter in Leo and then Virgo, your 11th and 12th houses. The eclipses fall in Aquarius, Virgo, Capricorn and Leo, which for Libra means your 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th houses. Mercury turns retrograde three times, in Pisces (your 6th), Cancer (your 10th) and Scorpio (your 2nd), and Mars is retrograde from 10 January to 1 April, through your 12th and 11th houses.

Houses are counted by whole signs from your Sun sign (Libra is your 1st). Dates are UTC, from the Almanac’s own ephemeris.

Saturn in Aries all year: your 7th house

Saturn in your 7th house is read as a year of committed or tested partnership: bonds are asked to prove themselves, and contracts are binding. For Libra that is the greater malefic of the old books standing in the 7th house, and in Aries it stands in the sign of its fall, where the old books say it works with less ease than anywhere.

It turns retrograde on 9 August at 27°52′ Aries and direct on 24 December at 21°01′ Aries, so the second half of the year is read as a review of what the first half built in your 7th house: marriage and partnership, close one-to-one bonds, and contracts and agreements.

Say plainly what you want from a partnership, in one sentence.

Jupiter in Leo, then Virgo: your 11th and 12th houses

Jupiter begins the year in Leo, your 11th house, retrograde until 13 April, when it turns direct at 16°59′ Leo. Until 26 July, Jupiter in your 11th house is in its joy, the Good Spirit: the tradition reads a year of friends, benefactors and hopes that find support.

On 26 July Jupiter enters Virgo, your 12th house, and stays there for the rest of the year. From 26 July, Jupiter in your 12th house is read as grace behind the scenes: help that arrives quietly, inner growth, and generosity that is better not advertised.

The tradition calls Jupiter the greater benefic and reads its houses as where help and growth come most easily, so for Libra the doors stand in the 11th and then the 12th, with the old warning that Jupiter enlarges whatever it touches, the wanted and the unwanted alike.

Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and the Moon’s nodes

Uranus stays in Gemini, your 9th house, all year. Uranus in your 9th house is read as a liberated mind: new beliefs, unexpected travel and learning that breaks old frames.

Neptune stays in Aries, your 7th house, all year. Neptune in your 7th house is read as idealized partnership: devotion and compassion, and a risk of seeing what you wish to see.

Pluto stays in Aquarius, your 5th house, all year. Pluto in your 5th house is read as intense love and creativity: passions that consume and works that come from the depths.

The Moon’s north node stands in Aquarius all year and the south node opposite in Leo: for Libra your 5th and 11th houses, the axis of the heart and the hope: personal joy and the friends and causes you belong to. The year’s eclipses gather close to this axis, which is why Libra’s eclipse houses are the 5th and the 11th and their neighbors.

Love in 2027 for Libra

Venus, the lesser benefic, crosses your 5th house of romance (Aquarius) from 1 March to 26 March and 19 December to 13 January 2028, and your 7th house of partnership (Aries) from 20 April to 14 May. The tradition reads those weeks as Libra’s warmest of the year for courtship and for agreements made in good faith. The lunations that fall in those two houses come in April and October: the New Moon of 6 April in your 7th and the Full Moon of 15 October in your 7th. Two questions for Libra’s year in love: When did I last do something only because I enjoy it? And what am I asking of my partner that I have never said aloud?

Work and money in 2027

For work, the year’s weight sits where the slow planets stand: Saturn in your 7th (business partners, clients and the contracts that bind them), and Jupiter in your 11th and then 12th, read as growth in networks, clients, teams and the people who open doors and then work behind the scenes, research and anything done out of public view. Your 10th house of career is Cancer; the lunations there fall on 4 July (New Moon), the year’s natural dates for career beginnings and reviews. Money is read through your 2nd house (Scorpio) and your 8th (Taurus): 20 April (Full Moon in your 2nd), 6 May (New Moon in your 8th), 20 May (Full Moon in your 2nd), 29 October (New Moon in your 2nd) and 14 November (Full Moon in your 8th) are the dates the tradition would mark for budgets, debts and agreements. No slow planet stands in Libra’s houses of work or money this year, so the tradition would read your 2027 working life through the monthly lunations rather than one long theme, and leave the sums to ordinary prudence.

Libra’s four best months of 2027

Read by the lunations alone, the four most open months for Libra are June, July and September.

How the months are chosen: a month counts when its New Moon falls in one of the places the Hellenistic astrologers called fortunate (your 1st, 10th and 11th houses first, then your 5th and 9th), with a Full Moon there adding a little; eclipse New Moons are left out, since the tradition reads them as turning points rather than easy openings. It is a reading of the Moon’s turns, not of your whole chart: a month left off the list is not a bad month.

Mercury and Mars retrograde in 2027

Mars is retrograde from 10 January at 10°25′ Virgo to 1 April at 20°55′ Leo, backing from Virgo into Leo: your 12th and 11th houses. For Libra that winter, Mars retrograde in your 11th house is read as group efforts stalling, and friendships that need repair rather than force.
