In every one of the 91 years from 1940 to 2030 the Sun stood in Taurus for the whole of May 18, in every time zone on Earth, between 26.7° and 28.1° of the sign at noon UTC, so a May 18 birthday is a Taurus birthday whatever the year or the hour.

At noon UTC on May 18 the Sun is in the third decan of Taurus, 20° to 30°, in every one of those years, a face that belongs to Saturn in the Chaldean order and is read through Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, by triplicity, so the two systems agree; in most years the decan runs from May 11 to May 20, and May 18 is its eighth day.

In most years May 18 is the 29th day of the Sun’s season in Taurus, which runs from April 20 to May 20 counted at noon UTC, with two days of it still to come. May 18 is the 138th day of a common year and the 139th of a leap year, with 227 days of the year still to come after it.

May 18 birthday personality

Both systems hand the last decan of Taurus to Saturn, so the old reading is patience in its slowest and surest form, things built to outlast their builder. It is the decan of the long apprenticeship, and the question it carries is whether endurance has left room for delight.

Born on the 18th, 1 and 8 add to 9: the leader and the steward together, finishing in compassion. Numerology reads it as a birthday with a wide horizon and strong convictions. With earth, the 9 is read as service that endures, the steady giving of someone who does not need to be thanked.

A question to carry from May 18: which chapter of your life is your patience ready to close with thanks?

The Sun in Taurus and the number 9 are only part of the story: your Moon, your rising sign and the rest of your chart have as much to say, and the tradition offers all this as a mirror, never a verdict.

Birthday number 9

Born on the 18th, 1 + 8 = 9, so your birthday number is 9: a 9 vibration supports completion, compassion, release, wisdom, and humanitarian energy, with compassion and wise completion as its gift and martyrdom, heavy endings, or emotional overextension as its strain.

Your 2027 numbers

For a birthday on May 18 the house method reduces the birth month and the day on their own and adds the Universal Year of 2027, 11 (2 + 0 + 2 + 7 = 11, a master number kept whole), as it stands: May, the 5th month, gives 5, the 18th reduces to 9, and 5 + 9 + 11 = 25, which reduces to 7, so 2027 is your Personal Year 7.

Numerology reads a Personal Year 7 as a year to slow down, reflect and look for deeper understanding. With the Universal Year an 11, the reading treats 2027 as a year of spiritual insight for those who seek it.

Personal Months of 2027, a Personal Year 7: Jan 8 Feb 9 Mar 1 Apr 11 May 3 Jun 4 Jul 5 Aug 6 Sep 7 Oct 8 Nov 9 Dec 1

In 2027 May 18 falls on a Tuesday, the day the old reckoning gives to Mars, and is a Personal Day 3 (3 + 18 = 21, then 3) in a Personal Month 3 (7 + 5 = 12, then 3), while April is a master month 11; the Personal Year itself turns on 1 January, not on the birthday.
