Sacred Numbers
What this tool does
This calculator adds your birth month, birth day, and the current year (2026), then reduces the total to a personal year number from 1 to 9.
Numerology reads life in repeating 9-year cycles. Your personal year number names the chapter you are in right now.

Your saved birth date, exact birth time, and verified birthplace anchor every calculation in this tool.
No birth time is needed for this number calculation. For your Sun, Moon, rising sign, houses, and aspects, cast your full natal chart.
How the calculation works
Add your birth month and birth day to the digits of the current calendar year, then reduce to a single digit. Personal years run 1 through 9 and then restart, so every ninth year rhymes with the one before it.
The nine personal years

- Personal Year 3
- A year of expression: create, socialize, publish, and let yourself be seen.

- Personal Year 5
- A year of change and movement: travel, pivot, experiment, and stay flexible.
- Personal Year 6
- A year of home and responsibility: family, service, repair, and beautifying your base.

Common questions
Do I need my birth time?
No. Personal years are built from your birth month, birth day, and the calendar year. Birth time matters when you cast a complete natal chart.
What is a personal year number?
It is the position you currently occupy in numerology’s repeating 9-year cycle, calculated from your birth month, birth day, and the current calendar year.
When does my personal year change?
The common convention changes it on January 1. Some numerologists run it birthday to birthday; The Great Almanac uses the calendar-year convention for consistency.
Does a 9 year mean something is ending?
It marks a completion chapter: finishing, releasing, and clearing before a new 1-year begins. It describes a theme, not a verdict.
