In every one of the 91 years from 1940 to 2030 the Sun stood in Capricorn for the whole of December 31, in every time zone on Earth, between 8.9° and 10.3° of the sign at noon UTC, so a December 31 birthday is a Capricorn birthday whatever the year or the hour.
At noon UTC on December 31 the Sun is in the first decan of Capricorn in 76 of those years and in the second in 15, so the decan, like the sign at a cusp, turns on the year. The first decan of Capricorn is a face that belongs to Jupiter in the Chaldean order and is read through Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, by triplicity, and in most years the decan runs from December 22 to December 31, and December 31 is its tenth day.
In most years December 31 is the 10th day of the Sun’s season in Capricorn, which runs from December 22 to January 19 counted at noon UTC, with 19 days of it still to come. December 31 is the 365th day of a common year and the 366th of a leap year, with 0 days of the year still to come after it.

December 31 birthday personality
Jupiter, in its fall in Capricorn, opens the sign in the Chaldean order while Saturn keeps it by triplicity, so ambition is read here as a vision patient enough to build itself brick by brick. The old reading credits it with foresight and asks that it leave a little room for luck.
The 31st adds 3 and 1 into 4, so numerology reads the creative and the independent settling into a builder’s discipline. It is a birthday linked with practical originality. Earth and the 4 are both builders, so the tradition reads this pairing as reliability itself, with a stubborn streak to watch.
A question to carry from December 31: what would your discipline build if you gave it one hour, every day, for a month?
The Sun in Capricorn and the number 4 are only part of the story: your Moon, your rising sign and the rest of your chart have as much to say, and the tradition offers all this as a mirror, never a verdict.
Birthday number 4
Born on the 31st, 3 + 1 = 4, so your birthday number is 4: a 4 vibration supports structure, discipline, foundations, work, and stability, with structure and reliability as its gift and rigidity, fear, or over-control as its strain.
Your 2027 numbers
For a birthday on December 31 the house method reduces the birth month and the day on their own and adds the Universal Year of 2027, 11 (2 + 0 + 2 + 7 = 11, a master number kept whole), as it stands: December, the 12th month, reduces to 3, the 31st reduces to 4, and 3 + 4 + 11 = 18, which reduces to 9, so 2027 is your Personal Year 9.
Numerology reads a Personal Year 9 as a year of endings, generosity and letting go, closing one nine-year round. Under the Universal Year 11, the reading sees the release as preparing for a new and more inspired chapter.
Personal Months of 2027, a Personal Year 9: Jan 1 Feb 11 Mar 3 Apr 4 May 5 Jun 6 Jul 7 Aug 8 Sep 9 Oct 1 Nov 2 Dec 3
In 2027 December 31 falls on a Friday, the day the old reckoning gives to Venus, and is a Personal Day 7 (3 + 31 = 34, then 7) in a Personal Month 3 (9 + 12 = 21, then 3), while February is a master month 11; the Personal Year itself turns on 1 January, not on the birthday.
