December 21 is a cusp birthday, usually Sagittarius; in some years the Sun enters Capricorn on this date, so check your birth year and time: in 43 of the 91 years from 1940 to 2030 the Sun crossed from Sagittarius into Capricorn during December 21 counted in UTC, most recently in 2030, and at noon UTC it stood in Sagittarius in 86 of the years and in Capricorn in 5. For a birth on December 21 the year, the time and the place settle the sign: convert the time of birth to UTC and compare it with the minute the Sun changed sign that year, or let the zodiac sign calculator do it from your date, time and city.
At noon UTC on December 21 the Sun is in the third decan of Sagittarius in 86 of those years and in the first decan of Capricorn in 5, so the decan, like the sign at a cusp, turns on the year. The third decan of Sagittarius is a face that belongs to Saturn in the Chaldean order and is read through Leo, ruled by the Sun, by triplicity, and in most years the decan runs from December 12 to December 21, and December 21 is its tenth day.
In most years December 21 is the 30th day of the Sun’s season in Sagittarius, which runs from November 22 to December 21 counted at noon UTC, the last day of it. December 21 is the 355th day of a common year and the 356th of a leap year, with 10 days of the year still to come after it.

December 21 birthday personality
Saturn rules the last face of Sagittarius in the Chaldean scheme while Leo lends the Sun’s confidence, so belief is read here as conviction that has been tested: the teacher, the elder, the one whose principles have cost them something. Tradition warns against a certainty that stops listening.
Born on the 21st, 2 and 1 add to 3: partnership and initiative turning into expression. Numerology reads it as a sociable, creative birthday, the host who is also the entertainer. The tradition reads fire with a 3 as a born encourager, quick with praise and quicker with a plan for the evening.
Where Sagittarius gives way to Capricorn the traveller meets the builder at the December solstice, vision meeting discipline. Some readers take a birthday this close to the change to carry something of both signs, a symbolic reading the calculation cannot measure; which sign the Sun was in at a birth is a matter of fact, settled by the year, the time and the place.
A question to carry from December 21: what would your hope make if it set aside the fear of how it will be received?
The Sun in Sagittarius and the number 3 are only part of the story: your Moon, your rising sign and the rest of your chart have as much to say, and the tradition offers all this as a mirror, never a verdict.
Birthday number 3
Born on the 21st, 2 + 1 = 3, so your birthday number is 3: a 3 vibration supports creativity, communication, joy, and expressive movement, with creative communication as its gift and scattered focus, avoidance, or emotional dramatization as its strain.
Your 2027 numbers
For a birthday on December 21 the house method reduces the birth month and the day on their own and adds the Universal Year of 2027, 11 (2 + 0 + 2 + 7 = 11, a master number kept whole), as it stands: December, the 12th month, reduces to 3, the 21st reduces to 3, and 3 + 3 + 11 = 17, which reduces to 8, so 2027 is your Personal Year 8.
Read as the year of the harvest, a Personal Year 8 is numerology’s season of ambition, finance and recognition. In a Universal Year 11 the tradition reads it as asking that success serve a purpose larger than itself.
Personal Months of 2027, a Personal Year 8: Jan 9 Feb 1 Mar 11 Apr 3 May 4 Jun 5 Jul 6 Aug 7 Sep 8 Oct 9 Nov 1 Dec 2
In 2027 December 21 falls on a Tuesday, the day the old reckoning gives to Mars, and is a Personal Day 5 (2 + 21 = 23, then 5) in a Personal Month 2 (8 + 12 = 20, then 2), while March is a master month 11; the Personal Year itself turns on 1 January, not on the birthday.
