What sets Tropical Zodiac apart
In the tropical zodiac the signs are laid out from the Sun's own path through the year, not from stars. Zero degrees of Aries is the March equinox, Cancer begins at the June solstice, Libra at the September equinox and Capricorn at the December solstice. The name comes from the Greek tropē, a turning. Ptolemy takes his signs from the equinoxes and solstices, so it is the zodiac of the Tetrabiblos as well.
