What sets North Node apart
The North Node is a crossing, not a body: the point where the Moon's path cuts the ecliptic going north. Unlike the planets it moves backward, completing the zodiac in 18.6 years at about 19 degrees a year, so it spends about a year and a half in a sign. The mean node moves smoothly, the true node wobbles about it by up to about 1.5 degrees. An eclipse can happen only when a New or Full Moon falls near a node, which is why eclipse seasons come about every 173 days.
