Sagittarius and the February 2027 annular solar eclipse

For Sagittarius, the annular solar eclipse of Saturday 6 February 2027 falls in Aquarius, which counted by whole signs from Sagittarius is your 3rd house: the house of words, siblings and short journeys. At the north node, an eclipse in the 3rd house is read as a new channel opening: a course, a correspondence, a neighbor or sibling who matters more than before, or a different way of saying what you think.

The eclipse in your 3rd house

The eclipse is greatest at 16:00 UTC on 6 February, with the Sun and the Moon together at 17°37′ Aquarius, the third sign counted from Sagittarius.

For Sagittarius in February, the eclipse lands in the 3rd house, the place the Hellenistic astrologers called the Goddess: the place where the Moon rejoices, in the old books the house of siblings, short journeys and the daily round.

In love the February eclipse touches how you talk to someone you love, and the small messages that keep a bond alive; at work, emails, contracts, writing and the everyday traffic of a working week; and with money, paperwork, small transactions and the agreements behind them.

The nodes run through Aquarius and Leo this year, so Sagittarius’s eclipse axis runs from the 3rd house to the 9th, the axis of the near and the far: daily words and larger beliefs, errands and pilgrimages.

On 2 August, 177 days later, the total solar eclipse falls at the other end of that axis, in your 9th house, and Sagittarius’s two solar eclipses of 2027 will have spoken from both ends of it.

On 6 February Sagittarius’s traditional ruler, Jupiter, stands in Leo, your 9th house, moving retrograde, so the tradition would read the eclipse’s news as reaching Sagittarius through the 9th house as well, the house of faith, travel and higher learning.

Sagittarius’s eclipse season

On 20 February, 14 days after the solar eclipse, the penumbral lunar eclipse at 23:13 UTC dims the Moon at 1°58′ Virgo, across Sagittarius’s 10th house, the house of career and reputation, where the tradition would look for what is ripening or ending.

Astrologers read an eclipse over months rather than on its day, so for Sagittarius the 3rd house stays in the foreground from 6 February until the next eclipse season, which the Almanac’s ephemeris puts in July.

And a question for Sagittarius to carry until the next eclipse season: What do I want to learn, and from whom?

Common questions

Which house is the February 2027 eclipse in for Sagittarius?

The 3rd, counted by whole signs from Sagittarius, since Aquarius is the third sign counted from Sagittarius. Your own chart, cast for your birth time, may place 17°37′ Aquarius in a house other than the 3rd, and astrologers would read it there as well.

Is the annular solar eclipse good or bad for Sagittarius?

The tradition does not sort the February eclipse into good or bad for Sagittarius. It reads your 3rd house, the house of words, siblings and short journeys, as where a chapter turns this February, and it leaves the outcome to your own choices.

When will Sagittarius feel the February eclipse?

Astrologers look for an eclipse’s themes over the months that follow it rather than on the day, so for Sagittarius from 6 February until the eclipses of July, with the 3rd house as the place to watch.
