How element chemistry works
Each sign carries one of four elements. Fire and Air feed each other, Earth and Water hold each other, and same-element pairs amplify what they share. Modality adds the second layer: Cardinal signs start, Fixed signs hold, Mutable signs adapt - and two signs of the same modality often compete for the same role.

Common questions
Can incompatible elements still work?
Yes. Element friction describes the default chemistry, not a verdict. Full synastry between two complete charts regularly overrides a difficult sun-sign pairing.
Which signs match best with mine?
As a rule of thumb: Fire pairs with Air, Earth pairs with Water, and same-element pairs amplify each other. Pick your sign above to see every specific match.
Is this the same as synastry?
No. Synastry compares two full birth charts placement by placement. This checker reads the sun-sign layer, which is the traditional starting point.
