What sets Throat Chakra apart

Vishuddha, 'especially pure', is the fifth centre, at the throat, with sixteen petals, and with it the scheme moves from the four material elements to ether (akasha, space), the element of sound. In the standard picture the sixteen petals carry the sixteen vowels of Sanskrit, which ties the centre to speech in the old texts and not only in modern wellness language.
