The story behind Soul Contract
Soul-contract language grew in modern New Age, channeling, reincarnation, and self-help communities rather than classical Christian theology.
The spiritual meaning of Soul Contract
Spiritually, Soul Contract asks whether meaning-making is serving freedom or trapping a person in pain.
Soul Contract in the Bible
Christian readers should not treat soul-contract claims as doctrine or as a reason to remain in unsafe relationships.
Why Soul Contract matters
Soul Contract matters because it tries to give meaning to painful or repeating relationships, but it can become harmful if it justifies abuse, fatalism, or staying trapped.
Where readings of Soul Contract go wrong
A common error is to use Soul Contract language to excuse harm, abuse, neglect, or coercive relationships.
