What sets Tree of Life apart

In the Bible it is a particular tree, first one of two named in the garden in Genesis 2:9, then barred from the man and woman after the fall (Genesis 3:22 to 24). It then reappears at the end of the book: planted by the river in the new Jerusalem, yielding twelve fruits (Revelation 22:2). Between those points the book of Proverbs uses it as an image, calling wisdom, a fulfilled desire and a gentle tongue a tree of life.

Often mistaken for something else: The Kabbalistic Tree of Life is a ten-part diagram of divine attributes drawn from medieval Jewish mysticism; the biblical tree is a literal tree in Eden and in the new Jerusalem.
