The story behind High Magic
Historians often distinguish learned high magic from local low magic, while noting that the boundary is porous and culturally constructed.
The spiritual meaning of High Magic
Spiritually, High Magic asks whether intellectual polish is disguising the desire to command sacred power.
High Magic in the Bible
Christian discernment should not confuse sacred vocabulary or angel language with faithful prayer under God.
Why High Magic matters
High Magic matters because the label can make occult practice sound refined, scholarly, or holy even when it still pursues ritual control.
Sources and editorial method
This entry summarizes the tradition in the Almanac's own words; where no source is listed, it is an editorial summary rather than a primary text, and symbolic readings are named as the tradition's, not as fact.
